EPISODE ONE: Bronte’s Flock

Bronte and I met while cheffing at Meat Carnival in Napa, and quickly bonded over our love of real food. She is a chef, rancher, community leader, dear friend, and so much more. Click here to read more about my current project, Ryan’s Real Food.

Bronte was a major force behind the “No on Measure J” team in Sonoma this year. Thankfully the measure did not pass. I was honored to be grill master for the celebratory event, cooking local beef, duck, oysters, veggies, and bread. Yum! Read more about the No on Measure J team here.

Click here to find a list of Farmers’ Markets in and around the bay area. (Pro tip: Beware of the generic banner “we grow what we sell”- that usually means pesticides and chemicals, and we don’t want that. Look for signs that specify Organic, Sustainable, Regenerative, etc- or better yet, ask them! Some small farms are organic but don’t pay for the certifications and are just as good).

If you want a deep dive into source local, sustainable meats, read this.

Real food is fun. Here’s a quote by Dr. Seuss to wrap it all up: ” “If you never did you should. These things are fun and fun is good,”. Go have some fun and support local, real food.

Lastly- Do you know any farmer, ranchers, restaurants, or food folks you want me to talk to and promote? Have any feedback to share, questions you want me to ask in future interviews, etc? Let me know below!
